“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, all the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” – Ansel Adams

iPhoneography

Sometimes you don’t need the newest, best camera to capture beautiful moments. Sometimes the best camera is the one you have with you. On a whim one afternoon recently I only had my iPhone with me and did a spontaneous photo shoot. Everything here is taken and edited on my phone.

Cherry Blossoms | Washington, DC

I wandered down to the National Mall and the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms last weekend. They were pretty stubborn about blooming, but they eventually did. There were still quite a few trees that hadn’t quite bloomed. Still, it was a beautiful day and it made me appreciate this beautiful city.

“My, my. What beautiful blossoms we have this year. But look! This one’s late.
But I’ll bet that when it blooms, it will be the most beautiful of all.” –Fa Zhou, Mulan

One of the many quotes at the FDR memorial.
